Platinum just dropped free DLC for a decade-old game-

The Wonderful 101 was first released in 2013 as a Nintendo Wii U exclusive and, remarkably enough, ten years later is still the last game to have been directed by Hideki Kamiya (thanks mainly to the cancellation of Scalebound). The game did not sell well, which was probably down to the Wii U’s failure as much as anything, but it’s an absolute cracker of an action game with a unique combat system, the visual pizzazz of the best Saturday morning cartoons, and bags of personality.

The game was resurrected in 2020 thanks to a crowdfunding campaign and, shortly afterwards, The Wonderful 101: Remastered found its way to various platforms including Steam (where the user reviews are ‘very positive’). Part of the campaign were additional game modes offered as stretch goals which, to…

One terrifying Baldur’s Gate 3 player has crafted a ‘darkest timeline’ playthrough which gives everyone the worst ending—except the puppy-

As spotted by IGN, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player has meticulously planned out a 75-step playthrough which gives every carefully written, lovingly acted NPCs of Baldur’s Gate 3 the worst ending possible.

This isn’t just some murder run where everyone dies. Reddit user Sparkism (who rather fittingly has the ‘Bhaal’ flair) specifically devised a step-by-step plan to make everyone in the Sword Coast as miserable as possible. It’s meticulously detailed, breaking down the choices required act by morbid act.

The run begins with a few obvious steps—don’t get Shadowheart out of the pod, don’t rescue Gale—but it quickly takes a dark turn with commands like “pick up Astarion, he’ll be important later,” and “recruit Wyll. He’s an important piece.” This is immed…

After around 150K kills, Old School RuneScape hero becomes first in history to collect every boss drop in the game-

In an act of, sure, let’s call it heroism, an Old School RuneScape (OSRS) player has become the first ever to acquire every single one of the potential drops spat out by the game’s bosses on death. Spotted by GamesRadar, a player named Bazilijus managed fill every entry in the Bosses section of the game’s Collection Log—basically a checklist of the game’s many, many items—making RuneScape history and putting themself squarely in the #1 position of the game’s Collection Log leaderboard.

That’s a staggering amount of work, and it’s totally up to chance. Like pretty much any MMO, the drops you get when you defeat a boss in OSRS are up to the fickle whims of the game’s RNG systems, meaning Bazilijus had to slog through multiple boss encounters over and over and over again …

Starfield’s infinite weapon glitch is your path to farming epic guns-

We pretty quickly learned that the fastest way to make money in Starfield isn’t by harvesting resources or scanning planetary data or pawning stolen spaceships. It’s from selling all the guns you collect while shooting your way through hordes of Starfield’s space pirates and serpent fanatics.

So what if I could give you a quick shortcut to spawning tons o’ guns in mere seconds without ever once putting yourself in danger? Not only could you sell the guns for extra cold hard space cash, you could wind up with some epic or legendary weapons in your holster for your next big fight.

It’s done, as you might guess, with a glitch. The handy exploit, posted here by Reddit user PNWTroglodyte, runs through the steps you can take to quickly spawn a ton of random guns, and…

Greedfall 2- The Dying World will launch in early access, ‘players will have access to the entire beginning of the game’-

Our reviewer Lauren Morton called Greedfall “adequate” when she reviewed the RPG from by French studio Spiders, saying its systems “parrot those of successful RPGs, but they’re all a bit thin.” The studio has higher hopes for its sequel, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. In a first for Spiders, it’ll be coming out in early access.

“Greedfall 2 is certainly a much more ambitious game than the first one,” said producer Reda Isber during a recent livestream as part of Nacon Connect. “And so early access seemed like the right path to take. We’re relying heavily on early access to collect player feedback and see if we’re heading in the right direction.”

Jehanne Rousseau, CEO of Spiders and lead writer of Greedfall, explained that Greedfall 2’s new combat syste…

This upcoming co-op roguelike hack-and-slasher looks like Braveheart crossed with Heavy Metal-

Watch On

Revealed during today’s Summer Game Fest showcase, Tears of Metal is a roguelike co-op hack-and-slasher in which a battalion of angry Scottish warriors (because they’re always angry) butcher their way through massive hordes of enemies who have invaded their island, driven by the dark, dangerous powers of the Dragon Stone Meteor.

Players will have access to multiple unique characters and more than 100 “artifacts” that can be combined with powerful upgrades to create “distinctive and devastating builds.” Your stalwart soldiers gain experience between campaigns that will enable permanent upgrades, but the flip side of that coin is that permadeath is a problem: If they go down, they stay down.

There’s a little bit of management involved, too. When you’re not doing battl…

US gov fires a warning shot at Nvidia- ‘We cannot let China get these chips… If you redesign a chip that enables them to do AI, I’m going to control it the very next day’-

Nvidia’s penchant for redesigning its GPUs to get around US export restrictions has seemingly been directly called out by the US Commerce Secretary, with a warning that when such a redesign is created, “I’m going to control it the very next day.”

Since 2022, US chip sanctions have continued to make life somewhat difficult for manufacturers looking to export their products to certain countries, chief among them being China. However, that hasn’t stopped Nvidia from attempting to work its way around the export bans by releasing products that circumvent the current restrictions, introducing slightly redesigned models produced exclusively for the Chinese market.

It’s been an entertaining power play, but US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo appears to have had her fill of the…

Ubisoft’s XDefiant system requirements are so low that even a manky old potato will run the game-

Ubisoft might be acting all fashionably late to the multiplayer shooter party, but its forthcoming XDefiant looks like it will be accessible to just about every gamer out there, thanks to having some of the lowest PC system requirements I’ve seen in years.

Let’s start with the entry point, the minimum specs Ubisoft suggests will run XDefiant. A CPU with four cores and eight threads will be good enough, as will a 4GB graphics card from eight years ago. Even 8GB of system RAM is fine and yes, it really is 2024—you haven’t drifted back in time while you were sleeping.

Whether XDefiant is actually playable on such hardware is a different thing altogether and I’m not a fan of minimum hardware requirements in general. The recommended system requirements seem more re…
